American Horseman's Saber, possibly New England, c. 1770-80, brass hilt with narrow counter-guard and round quilling, plain knuckle bow connecting to a large ovoid pommel, plain mahogany grip; curved single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and three narrow fullers, blade lg. 28 7/8, overall lg. 34 3/4 in. Brass toned to a deep yellow, grip has two shrinkage cracks, hilt has slight movement on the pommel; blade is toned to a mottled gray/brown and a has a few edge nicks.
