Revolutionary War era Militia Belt Ax with Haft

18 th Century belt axe, origin New York, 4 15/16 x 2 5/8”, [.72#], nice flared cutting edge, seam evident in socket, and rounded ears with one showing some deterioration , old hardwood haft measuring 9.75” that is probably an old replacement, nice patina to the wood, perfect size to carry in a soldier’s belt. Axe had moderate oxidation.
