Revolutionary War era American Rum Canteen or Rundlet

Revolutionary War era rundlet.  Period red paint that is often associated with militia service. Small wooded vessel for water or rum. Regular soldier s would carry their ration of rumor whiskey, an important part of every continenntal soldiers ration! Excellent condition with 1 small and 1 larger split across the top.  Great patina, fine condition. 6 in. by 3.25 in.
