Revolutionary War Brandywine Dug American Bayonet

Revolutionary War Brandywine Dug American Bayonet

$495.00Price

Revolutionary War Brandywine dug Bayonet.  This bayonet was found many years ago on private land on the Brandywine Battlefield.  An old tag indicates the location of the find.  This is likelya  Brown Bess bayonet that has had its blade shortened, either for ease of use or because the blade was broken.  This could have been done by an American soldier to re-use a British bayonet.  A British soldier would have been issued a new byonet.  It is also possible this bayonet was American made from the outset.  This bayonet is marked with a rack number /134.  15.5 in. overal length, 4 in. socket and 11.5 in blade.
