Revolutionary War Bone Button Blank Dug in Hudson Highlands,Extremely Rare. This is a piece of bone, likely cow bone, with several small buttons drilled out of it. Buttons were often made of bone in the 18th c. and today. This was found in an American camp in the Hudson Highlands and is very rare to find today. Metal detectors do not register bone and the bones often deteriorate in the ground. A rare piece from a camp craftsman tht belongs in a button collectors collection. 5 inches in length.
