Revolutionary War and War of 1812 American Wooden Canteen. Bent and lapped wooden construction with period dark blue painted surfaces. Canteen bears carved names and dates from two owners, one side reads "HL 1814" and "B HINES MAY 11 1855" reverse "HENRY LINDEM ORY". Good condition with wear, measures: 6.75" across X 3.25" Deep. More Research needed on the Owners service records. This is the style of Rev War Canteen everyone looks for and was used in both conflicts. Perfect representation for either collection and likley made in Rev War and continued to be reused.
