American made Revoltionary war era blacksmith made bayonet. Similar in style to the Brown Bess 13.5 in. blade and note how the blade is reinfriced when it attaches to the arm. Socket is 3.5 in long. 15/16 in. wide socket and open at the top. Overall stable patina with some loss, but no active rust. Crooked cut slot as is typical of American bayonets. This is typicaly referred to as a barn find. From an old Pennsylvania collection.
