Late 17th Century English plug bayonet, has two struck marks likely of James II, reign of 1685-1688, with silver ethnographic warrior or angel  finials and pommel, 19 1/4” overall length, 12 1/2” blade. Hardwood handle, possible rosewood.   First recorded use of the plug bayonet by British troops in battle was on 27 July, 1689 at Killiecrankie, Scotland... First Jacobite Rising.
