French and Indian War 18lb. Cannon Ball Dug at Ft. William Henry
French and Indian War 18lb. cannon ball dug outside Ft. William Henry Very rare size. Both the French and the British used 18 lb cannons at the seige of Ft. William Henry. Will include notes and research on the 18 lb cannons at the Siege. Believed by previous owner and digger to be of British manufature and fired from the fort, but due to some surface loss it is impossible to tell if British or French. Dug near the shoreline of Lake George. The siege was showcased in the classic book and movies, The Last of the Mohicans. Roughly 17.5 lbs and 5.1 in in diameter. Due to its size, it is difficult to mesure exactly. From an 40 year old Pennsylvania Colonial artillery collection. Very good condition.
