This is a wonderful, original document dated 1714, Springfield, Pennsylvania, where John and Susanna Maris have sold to their son Richard a part of 150 acres in Springfield, Pennsylvania....signed at bottom by John and Susanna Maris, George Maris Senior, John Coppock and later recorded in 1760 by William Parker.A nice early Quaker family land sale, document is 12x24, vellum, folds, else in overall good condition. John Maris was born on 21 May 1669 at Worchestershire, England. He married Susanna Lewis on 21 Sep 1693 Haverford , Delaware Co., PA. He died on 8 Mar 1746/47 at Springfield, Chester (Delaware) Co. PA, at age 77. He lived at inherited "Home House." He was Cordwainer (shoemaker). He was Member of the Assembly.

William Parker, who owned a plantation of about 170 acres in Darby Township, Chester (now Delaware) County, Pa., became a justice of the peace in 1757 and was appointed to the county committee of correspondence in July 1774.
